Our Mission
Activate and help people learn, practise and acquire Habits for Health, especially eating habits, to combat lifestyle-related chronic diseases.
Our Work
Engines of Health is our training and consultancy company that conducts workshops, seminars and programmes to activate, equip and coach people to jumpstart changes to their lifestyle and dietary habits to combat diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and other lifestyle-related diseases.
The Bento People by What's Cooking Doc? is our restaurant, created by Doc as a living classroom for people to explore new foods and build better Habits for Health, starting with getting people to explore new and better staples and get Plant-Stronger.
What's Cooking Doc? is Doc's social media platform where he encourages people to learn and adopt better Habits for Health, especially eating habits that are whole foods based and plant-strong.
Our Team
Doc is the leader of our team, on top seeing patients at his medical clinic where he focuses on helping patients with diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and other lifestyle-related chronic diseases change and improve their lifestyle, especially eating habits, to better combat their conditions, Doc is also founder and head chef at The Bento People as well as the Medical Director and Principal Trainer of Engines of Health. Doc is also an strong advocate of healthy lifestyle and eating habits and is frequently privileged to be invited on various TV an print media to share his experience and thoughts on topics related to lifestyle, diet and health (>> collection of Doc's media appearances)
Janice and Meijie form the backbone of our team supporting Doc in his work and mission in activating, equipping and coaching people to learn and jumpstart better Habits for Health. Janice and Meijie play key roles concurrently at both The Bento People and Engines of Health. Both Janice and Meijie are Habits for Health Coaches and coaches people in their dietary habits change journeys; Programme Managers at Engines of Health organising and conducting Habits for Health workshops and programmes; Managers at The Bento People managing the day-to-day operations at the restaurant.
What we do on a day-to-day basis
We are a small but close-knit team, supporting one another and doing whatever needed to further our mission in endeavouring to help people learn, practise and acquire Habits for Health, especially eating habits, to combat lifestyle-related chronic diseases through our work at both The Bento People an Engines of Health, many mundane but necessary work to keep our work going, including but not limited to:

- all the different work needed to run the day-to-day operations of The Bento People, including daily food preparation, cooking, dish washing, customer service, supplies purchasing and numerous other mundane but necessary work.
- all the different work needed to organise, market and conduct the Habits for Health workshops and other programmes run by Engines of Health and Doc.
- coaching people in their journeys changing their eating habits for better health and to combat diabetes and other lifestyle-related diseases.
- product and business development, marketing, collateral development video production, video editing and other work necessary to run and grow The Bento People, Engines of Health and What's Cooking Doc?
What kind of people we are looking for:
Prerequisites :
- Have a passion for making a real difference in people's lives through supporting the What's Cooking Doc's team's various work at The Bento People and Engines of Health in activating, equipping and supporting people to undertake changes to their eating habits for better health and to combat diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and other lifestye-related chronic diseases.
- Prior F&B, Food, nutrition, medical science, health coaching training or experience not necessary nor required.
